!!! Life is What You Make it !!!

There is only a fine line between sanity and insanity. Who is to decide that someone is insane and others are ‘normal?’ If somebody does not conform to set norms of behaviour, the society terms them as eccentric, odd, mad and crazy. Is it really fair?”

This line reminded me of my post I wrote long back

You step ahead fighting against the world's insanity
Then you see your hands shaking, wondering
"after all who has defined normality?"

“The sound of a grown-up man crying is one of the loneliest, saddest sounds I have ever heard.”
Never belittle love, no matter where it came from......
Its important to be a little humbler, nicer and kinder with my words and actions, always
The Logical part of me said that I was not responsible in any way. But there was no escape from the feelings that I was to blame in some way. Feelings are powerful and logic was crushed under its weight. I was at their mercy and they were unrelenting, harsh and unforgiving.
I felt as though somebody was tearing out my heart from the ribcage, severing the arteries, yanking it out, tossing it aside and them stomping over it, squelching it under heavy feet. I watched helplessly. I felt this day in and day out.
This book is a fictional story of a protagonist girl who later suffers with a mental issue called "Bipolar Disorder". The narration of story is very gripping as the prologue starts off with the present, and the story runs in past, which keeps you hooked. The pace of the book seems a little uneven as the earlier part of the girl's life is narrated in detail while the later part which makes the main plot of the book seems to have ended quite quickly. Although the story does succeed in delivering the message it ought to that is mainly of survival and faith. But some things around the main character is left unanswered and some situations unexplained, although the character sketch of the main character is extremely poignant.
As I had heard that it is a motivational book, I found it as an interesting read, about feeling the crust of the story of being motivational I cannot say. But though the book ends on a positive note, it will leave you with a very unsettling feeling and can tend to make you a bit gloomy.
I did enjoy the 3 hours I spent reading the novel while taking my flight and all that time it turned out to be a great travel buddy. I think I might just try the authors other book on my next flight 34 Bubblegums and Candies, I think it would be worth a try, at least I hope so :)

!!! Forever Odd !!!

The heart is an artist that paints over what profoundly disturbs us, leaving on the canvas a less dark, less sharp version of the truth.

"If ones friends do not openly laugh at him, they are not in fact his friends. How else would one learn to avoid saying those things that would elicit laughter from strangers? The mockery of friends is affectionate and inocculates from foolishness."
You can con God and get away with it ... if you do so with charm and wit. If you live your life with imagination and verve, God will play along just to see what outrageously entertaining thing you'll do next.

Humanity is a parade of fools, and I am at the front of it, twirling a baton.

The snow did not even whisper its way to earth, but seemed to salt the night with silence.
Wealth is power, and power is the only thing about which contemporary culture cares.

We are not, however, a species that can choose the baggage with which we must travel. In spite of our best intentions, we always find that we have brought along a suitcase or two of darkness and despair.

Sloth is impervious to opportunity.

Making a decision to choose isn't always easy.

We sometimes take refuge in misery, a strange kind of comfort.

His scaly lips formed the curve of perfect lie; a smile in which malice tried to pass as friendly intent, in which amusement was in fact dripping venom.

The things we worry about the most are never the things that bite us. The sharpest teeth always take their nip of us when we are looking the other way.

When social forces press for the rejection of age - old Truth, then those who reject it will seek meaning in their own truth. These truths will rarely be Truth at all; they will be only collections of personal prefrences and prejudices.

The only benefit of being tagged a hero is that you are regarded by most people with some degree of awe and that, by playing to this awe, by wearing a somber expression and avoiding eye contact, you can almost always ensure that your privacy will be respected.

Review* :  Story is'nt as great as the literature, do grab it if profound writing is what you looking for and if you enjoy the words more than the plot.

!!! Eat Pray Love !!!

My Review :

The book is a story of a woman who has lost her self some where in the daily chores, the rat race of career and the marriage.

One of the most finest ever written stories. I was almost sad when it came to an end....

Have you ever read a book which has all the feelings you have ever felt in your life sprawled right in front of you, Lost in the comfort of food, the passion of knowing and giving a chance to yourself in embracing the unknown, finally sitting across your silhouette and having the courage to look at your bared soul, see every flaw, ever damage, every mistake so that you can mend it, collect the broken pieces and improve your current being, and then rise above it and start seeing the good of your self and nurturing that part.

This is a story of self nurturing, taking chances, developing courage to explore the unexplored, acknowledging your mistakes and back drops and forgive your self, loving you self and be open to receive love in return, no matter where it comes from..

And last not the least I am dying to go to Italy and Bali ... Damn I just cant wait ... just can't.

Some of the unforgettable words most cherished by the writer in me:
“When I get lonely these days, I think: So BE lonely, Liz. Learn your way around loneliness. Make a map of it. Sit with it, for once in your life. Welcome to the human experience. But never again use another person's body or emotions as a scratching post for your own unfulfilled yearnings.”

“I have a history of making decisions very quickly about men. I have always fallen in love fast and without measuring risks. I have a tendency not only to see the best in everyone, but to assume that everyone is emotionally capable of reaching his highest potential. I have fallen in love more times than I care to count with the highest potential of a man, rather than with the man himself, and I have hung on to the relationship for a long time (sometimes far too long) waiting for the man to ascend to his own greatness. Many times in romance I have been a victim of my own optimism.”

“At some point, you gotta let go, and sit still, and allow contentment to come to you.”

“The more exquisitely and delightfully you can do nothing, the higher your life's achievement.”

“Your emotions are the slaves to your thoughts, and you are the slave to your emotions.”

In desperate love, we always invent the characters of our partners, demanding they be what we need of them, and then feeling devastated when they refuse to perform the role we created in the first place.”
“There is so much about my fate that I cannot control, but other things do fall under the jurisdiction. I can decide how I spend my time, whom I interact with, whom I share my body and life and money and energy with. I can select what I can read and eat and study. I can choose how I'm going to regard unfortunate circumstances in my life-whether I will see them as curses or opportunities. I can choose my words and the tone of voice in which I speak to others. And most of all, I can choose my thoughts.”
